Stan de Mello

Stan de Mello is a lecturer, field faculty, Affiliate Faculty-Canadian Studies and a member of the Community Centered Integrated Practice concentration. He has been on faculty at the Native Education Centre, Vancouver, University of British Columbia and the University of the Fraser Valley. Stan has a sustained interest in First Nations community development and has worked extensively with urban and rural communities in Canada and the United States. He has also been involved in developing field education sites and institutional relationships in Kenya, UK, Vietnam, Cambodia, India and Canada.

Emily Simpson-Keyes

Emily Simpson-Keyes

Emily began her career with the Carolina College Advising Corps; a college access program dedicated to increasing the number of first-generation, low-income, and underrepresented high school students entering and completing higher education in North Carolina. A product of the public education system herself, Emily is a two-time graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, most recently earning a Master of Social Work in Community, Management, and Policy Practice in 2020. 

Cindy Desir

Cindy is a program coordinator for the UW School of Social Work CWTAP program, supporting the field advisors. Before working at the UW, Cindy graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University with a degree in communications. Once graduated, Cindy moved to Los Angeles to work at the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences. The best experience of working there was being able to attend the Oscars every year. After a few years in LA, Cindy decided to change things up by moving to China to teach English to children. There, her love for children and education blossomed.

Alyssa Camp

Alyssa Camp

Alyssa comes to the School from the UW School of Pharmacy, where she served as a grants and contracts manager since April 2020. Prior to her UW tenure Alyssa worked in a similar capacity at Seattle Children’s Hospital. Alyssa has a robust history in grant and contract management, including roles in higher education, state and federal government, and non-profit entities. She is passionate about utilizing funding and policies to support social justice and equity initiatives and is looking forward to using her background in these areas to support the School of Social Work.
