Teaching recognized for excellence

Our world-class faculty creates an exciting, enriched and empowered space for learning, research and service—nine members have been honored with the UW Distinguished Teaching Award and 12 were elected to the American Academy of Social Work and Social Welfare. Highly diverse and widely recognized, our faculty bring a scientific perspective to some of the most pressing social issues of our day, along with a deep commitment to nurturing culturally competent and skilled social work professionals.

We welcome three new faculty

On Sept. 16, the School of Social Work welcomes three new assistant professors—Abril N. Harris, Kristian Jones and Maya Williams—to our social work community. Please read more about these amazing scholars, researchers and teachers.
