Teaching recognized for excellence

Our world-class faculty creates an exciting, enriched and empowered space for learning, research and service—nine members have been honored with the UW Distinguished Teaching Award and 12 were elected to the American Academy of Social Work and Social Welfare. Highly diverse and widely recognized, our faculty bring a scientific perspective to some of the most pressing social issues of our day, along with a deep commitment to nurturing culturally competent and skilled social work professionals. 

Doctoral mentorship award

Associate Professor Margaret Kuklinski, director of the Social Development Research Group, was selected to receive the 2023 Lewayne D. Gilchrist Doctoral Mentor Award. This honor recognizes faculty members who have dedicated their careers to the promise and success of their students.
