Shermoin Clardy is a leader in the nonprofit sector in King County, serving those communities that need treatment services for substance use and mental health disorders. She has worked in the field of social work for 25 years in areas of skilled nursing, community mental health and addiction. Her clinical area of expertise has been addiction and mental health with women, children and families. 

Shermoin is committed to ensuring equitable access to services by removing harmful stigmas and shame associated with substance use and mental health disorders. She believes it’s essential for providers to conduct services with accountability, honesty, transparency and integrity. She has worked as a DEI consultant for five years and is deeply committed to improving the lives of diverse communities, using a social justice lens. Currently, she teaches advance practice classes and seminars in the Master of Social Work program for Day and the Extended Degree programs.
