On June 2, the School of Social Work pulled off its first virtual faculty and staff recognition event with fanfare, fun and a feeling of deep connection as a community during a time of national trauma. Many thanks to everyone who helped to make the event such a success and to those who joined us in celebrating the School’s many achievements during a pandemic compounded by social upheaval.

Based on your vote, the School will donate funds normally set aside for event catering to one of the local organizations listed below. To help us select that organization, please complete this Catalyst survey by Monday, June 8 so that we can lend a hand to our local community during these challenging times.

Feestseattle—This organization, led by youth of color in South Seattle and South King County, is working to improve health and nutrition in our public schools. Community Lunch on Capitol Hill—Community Lunch on Capitol Hill provides hot meals and other basic services to those experiencing shelter and food insecurity during the COVID-19 outbreak. Community Lunch serves more than 1,000 meals per week.
